Pervez Musharraf rules out UN investigation

Pervez Musharraf has categorically said that there will not be any UN inquiry into the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, the former Prime Minister. He said this while giving an interview to the French Le Figaro. He said that there was no parallel between the murder of the former Prime Minister of Lebanon and the murder of Benazir Bhutto as in the earlier case two countries were involved which prompted a UN investigation.

I think that the PPP is not justified in its demand for a UN inquiry as it erodes the sovereignty of the country. The Scotland Yard team is assisting in the investigation and President Musharraf has assured that the findings of the Scotland Yard will be made public before the coming general elections.
