The Surgeon General of the Pakistan Army Lt. Gen. Mushtaq Ahmed Beg has been killed in a suicide bomb attack in Rawalpindi. The terrorists have increased their offensive against the Army which is evident by the fact that a serving lieutenant general has been killed in the attack. This is the sixth attack on the army personnel in six months. In these attack more than seventy armed forces personnel have been killed. Rawalpindi has the General Headquarters of the three armed forces of Pakistan which has made the military personnel a very easy target for the terrorist.

In a healthy development more than twenty thousand scholars of Islam have decried terrorism and have said that there is no place for terrorism in Islam. Suicide attack was unknown in Pakistan a few years back. This started in the aftermath of the US attack in Afghanistan and Iraq. I wonder if the political forces in the country will be able to find a solution of this problem.
