Commentary: Pakistan At Risk From Radicals
Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell told a Senate committee Tuesday that radical elements in Pakistan have became a threat to the survival of Pakistan. He was of the opinion that number of attacks carried out by the terrorists in the past six years indicated that militancy was increasing day by day.
He further said that al-Qaida wa running training camps in Pakistan’s tribal region to prepare recruits to attack Afghanistan, the Middle East, Africa and the United States.
In my opinion, his testimony before the Senate committee is a pack of lies. There is no doubt extremists are carrying out attacks inside Pakistan. All these militants are trained and funded by western intelligence agents in collaboration with the Afghan intelligence agencies. Indians are also assisting them in their activities.
The U.S. is also responsible for the militancy in Pakistan. They used these militants in the Afghan war. Now they are feigning innocence to deceive the American public and international community.
