UK announces major visa changes for Gulf Cooperation Council

Yes, it is true that the UK has announced major visa changes for certain countries. The changes were announced in June 2023 and are aimed at making it easier for citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan to travel to the UK

The changes include the removal of visa requirements for nationals from GCC countries and Jordan, and the introduction of a new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme for certain countries
The new reforms will come into effect for students starting in January next year and will cut net migration while protecting the economic benefits students bring to the UK
However, the changes do not affect all countries and visa routes, and some visa routes have been closed while others have been opened
