The government has taken several measures to remove asylum seekers from the UK. One of the measures is the Illegal Migration Bill, which is currently before the Lords. The bill is supposed to change the law so that those who arrive in the UK by irregular means can be removed to a third country such as Rwanda
. The bill is expected to face greater opposition in the Lords where it could be amended or delayed. The government has also drawn up plans to remove 3,163 asylum seekers every month from January. The government has signed an agreement to send asylum seekers to Rwanda as a safe country, although none have so far been sent to the central African country amid legal challenge. The government is also planning to use marquees to house asylum seekers in tents.
