Why AFD is against immigrant workers in Germany?

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is against immigrant workers in Germany. Here are some reasons why:

  • Stopping immigration: The AfD's main objective is to stop immigration and is firmly opposed to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s policy on migrants and refugees, which has seen more than 1.5 million people arriving to seek asylum in Germany since 2015

  • Negative immigration: The party wants to achieve "negative immigration" to Germany, which means reducing the number of immigrants in the country

    .
  • Sealing borders: The AfD wants to seal the EU's borders, institute rigorous identity checks along Germany's national borders, and set up holding camps abroad to prevent migrants from leaving for Germany in the first place

    .
  • Islamification: The AfD argues that Germany is being "Islamified" and portrays itself as a bulwark for traditional Christian values

    .
  • Racial concept of society: The AfD's youth wing has been branded "extremist" by Germany's domestic spy agency, which says it propagated "a racial concept of society"

    .
  • Anti-green agenda: The AfD lambasts the German government for high immigration levels, surging inflation, and a costly green transition

    .
It is important to note that the AfD appeals both to the right-wing extremist fringe and to people dissatisfied with the status quo who may or may not have previously participated in the electoral system
