  Ahmadi Muslims have faced persecution and discrimination in Pakistan, which has led many to flee their homes and seek asylum in other countries. According to a briefing by the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, around 6,000 Ahmadi Muslims have fled state-sponsored persecution in Pakistan and are in southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Malaysia, where many have obtained UNHCR refugee status 1 . Ahmadi asylum seekers have also sought refuge in other countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and New Zealand. In the United Kingdom, the Home Office recognizes Ahmadis as refugees and has resettlement schemes in place 4 .  In the United States, the Department of State has warned that some Pakistanis seeking asylum in the country have falsely claimed to be members of the Ahmadiyya Movement, so applicants seeking asylum should have proper documentation attesting to their membership in the Ahmadiyya Movement 5 .  In ...
